There is a new resource that has just been released online for Christian homeschoolers. The Ultimate Homeschool Radio Network was released yesterday. The UHRN was developed as an additional resource to bring Christian homeschool families the help they need—via audio files they could download or listen to live and all for free.
The idea, developed by Felice Gerwitz from the Ultimate Homeschool Expo, was to collect a series of podcasts in one location. All the podcasts are created and produced by different show hosts who discuss different aspects of Christian homeschooling. Some of these podcasts are recorded live and others privately recorded and then uploaded onto the website. Topics vary throughout the spectrum, from curriculum choice to time management to raising teens to helping your students learn how to budget.
Can’t make it to your local or state homeschooling convention this year? As busy homeschoolers, this new network will provide listeners the opportunity to listen “on demand” to some of their favorite speakers. By just utilizing the RSS feed, iTunes, or any podcast player, or directly from the UHRN website, listeners can tune in when they want to listen to topics that will help them in the moment. The best part: there is no fee involved!
As a Christian homeschooling dad who shares with you all here on the HSBA Post, I am excited to be a part of this new resource as well. My wife and I will be podcasting regularly at The HomeschoolingIRL Podcast. We promise to be witty and transparent as we pull the veil back on Christian homeschooling and uncover a few sacred cows that are worshipped. We’ll poke a few sticks at the conventional and remind people constantly about the freedom to be found in the Gospel, while discussing what it means to Homeschool In Real Life.
Check out the Ultimate Homeschool Radio Network and see if you can find a show that will help to encourage you and your homeschool.
