Mommy Homework

Another really cool thing I have started participating in, in addition to Jocelyn‘s Homeschool Memoir’s meme (da-da-de-dum *snap *snap*) is Cindy Rushton’s Mommy Homework. I have just begun, and have one assignment under my belt. I also am going to post them on my blog too.

If you are wondering what Mommy Homework is, each week you have an “assignment” to share in the comments at Cindy’s Desktop. You can also earn Mommy Homework Credits as you participate.

Going Out Of Business Sale

A reminder that Hallie, at Blue Thistle Books, has made a difficult decision to close her doors and is going out of business. You can read her story HERE. This is a hard thing for her, but you will be blessed by the savings, so go check it out!

Don’t forget to read Dawn’s post, Better Blogging: Reader Interactivity, and take the poll: What is your favorite daily feature at The Homeschool Post?

Just wondering: Which of the four headers is your favorite? Green has always been my favorite color, and I love green apples, so I have mine set to the “Prairie” theme. What about you?

Prayer Request

On October 12th, Josephine Lirette requested prayer for a 10 year-old little girl from her church. Kinley was diagnosed with terminal cancer at a visit to the Dr. for a suspected cold. She was having headaches, throwing up and her eyes were bulging. The doctor did and MRI and her parents were told to bring her back on Friday, which they did.

[from Josephine’s blog]

The results were that Kinley has an aggressive tumor which is inoperable and the doctors say she is terminal and she was given 2-3 days to live. She was transferred to a hospital in Birmingham where the doctors plan on beginning chemo on her on Monday or Tuesday to try and prolong her life for a week or two more.  Today, (Sat) Kinley was taken into surgery where the doctors drilled holes in her head and stomach to drain spinal fluid that has built up.

Kinley was not expected to still be alive today, but she is! Please see Josephine’s update about Kinley. She is still in dire need of our prayers.

You can also read about how the LORD has blessed her recently. If you recall, Josephine lost the Love of her Life on Mother’s Day, May 11th, 2008, in a drunk driving accident.
