About Ruthanne
My family is a modern day Brady Bunch. When hubby and I met, I was a single mother of one and he was a single father of three. Now, after twelve years of marriage, we’ve added four more children to our number, started on this journey called homeschooling and become convinced of the necessity of caffeine!
I am passionate about the Lord, my husband (aka the French teacher ~ it’s okay if you’re slightly jealous), and my children.
I’ve always been somewhat of a rebel (just ask my mom) and when we decided to homeschool back in 1998 it was no different. Back then homeschooling wasn’t as uber-cool as it is now ~ which I loved. I wanted to be on the edge. I wanted to be different. Now, that homeschooling has attained a new level of coolness, I’ve thought about ditching it. Then, I figure if I’ve invested this much time in it, I might as well stick it out. I also like to believe I’ve grown up a little bit and that rebellious side has toned itself down.
I love the arts, good literature, baking, savoring a Caramel Macchiato from Starbucks (Grande, please), hiding behind my Nikon and having a good laugh!
You can find me over at my blog, Eclectic Whatnot.
Psst!
Some days I want to literally pull all of my hair out.
Then, there are some days when a member of the crew will do something really smart or say something really intelligent and I’ll think to myself: “Where did he learn that?! Oh, wait a minute. I taught him that. Sweeeeeet! I guess I can do this homeschool thing for another day or two.”
