About Lori
My mom insists that I came out of the womb ‘talking’ and haven’t stopped since. She is right, it’s a gift! I have though over the past 40 (ouch!) years learned a thing or two about listening as well. A modern day Martha, I’m learning to “hush up” when it is God who is doing the talking. People often say I am like the “energizer bunny.” That’s just my style. I’m an organizer by nature and the way I see it, the energy is a gift from is the LORD…”if HE is going to supply it, I’d better use it…lest He think that I don’t need it…and I do!!”
I said “yes” 18 years ago to my best friend. We met while I was playing “Powder Puff” football at Clemson University in South Carolina and he’d been talked into being the coach. Allow me to explain, I grew up in Pittsburgh and learning to throw a football is something they teach you in the hospital nursery. [Forgive my shameless insert of GO STEELERS!!]
In those 18 years, 13 addresses have made the journey a ‘wild ride’ at times! [We are not military or running from the law.] Finally, God brought us back to the Southern United States. Georgia has been our home for the past 11 years!

Having grown up in the church, my ‘true spiritual journey’ began with an experience with infertility and surrendering to the Lord, allowing HIM to break me and remake me. The smile I wear is real! It’s who I am and I am so happy to be on the journey that I am on now. A journey that includes homeschooling 3 wonderful children!
Hayden is the youngest, our caboose. He is in 4th grade. Delaney the middle girl (a red head I might add) is in 6th grade, and Maddie our oldest is 14 and readying for high school. The journey continues. It was in one of those “rare” still moments that I heard God call us out of the boat of conformity and into the homeschool ocean, and as terrified as I was – we’ve never looked back.

I have a heart for teaching and for ministering to young girls and teens. At our homeschool group, I teach a Friday science class (not my fave) as well as 2 girl’s Bible Studies! Bible studies are my favorite thing to teach. If I could, I would shout from the mountain top that this is all by the grace and mercy of God. It’s not a perfect life but it’s OUR life and it really is the life for us!
Most days, after the school day is done, you can catch up with me at my personal blog, “all you have to give,”or the Internet Cafe Devotions OR Heart of the Matter where I’m working on a yearlong study called, Walking Among Them: a look at the lessons we can learn from the women of the past. I co-own the study.
I have about a million things on my “wanna do” list, which include becoming a Photoshop diva, learning the functions on my camera, and playing with paper! All in good time… provided the energizer bunny batteries don’t give out!
I’m thrilled to be here! Hoping to laugh a little and learn a little right along with YA’LL!
