About Jamerrill
Hello, my name is Jamerrill Stewart. I’m ecstatic about this opportunity to be a part of this awesome team of mothers, homeschoolers and writers at The Homeschool Post. Next to my love for Jesus, my next passion is encouraging homeschooling families – or those who’d like to be! The biggest snippet of encouragement I share with families is “God ordained YOU to parent and raise these children, therefore he has already placed in YOU – all that is needed to effectively homeschool them.”

I’ve been married to my fantastic husband for close to 13 years. Somehow, he thinks I’m wonderful. Every few years we add another baby to our mix. So far we’re up to 5 sweet blessings (3 months, 1, 4, 7 & 10) and, short of the Lord’s return, we’ll continue to grow our numbers (hey, we recently bought the 12-passenger van, gotta’ fill it.) We’re merging into our 7th year of home education and with each passing year, I let go and let God a little more than the year before. It took several years to get into our homeschool groove. We’ve learned that we lean toward the gentle Charlotte Mason approach. We also incorporate a heavy dose of lapbooks as well as structured delight-directed learning. I “big-fuzzy-heart” the homeschooling lifestyle and the freedom for each family do so in a way that works best for their dynamics & learning styles.

I’m a monthly contributor with Heart of the Matter Online, as well as being the Social Media Manager for Home Educators Association of Virginia. I started blogging in 2008 during our 3rd year of homeschooling. It was a way to keep up with family and friends during our year of full-time travel with my hubby‘s job {pre-Facebook}. Holy Spirit Led Homeschooling is where I journal our journey as well as write additional articles about how to make your own laundry detergent, creative ways to get more Jesus into your day, homeschooling for FREE or nearly free, and generally share my heart on how I know I was made to homeschool our children.

I have a G.E.D and a college degree. I’ve worked in fast food flipping burgers, been an insurance agent, computer tech and in recent years had the title of Charge Nurse–managing over 40 skilled patients, plus assistive staff. I’ve worked full-time while homeschooling, gone to college while homeschooling, and stayed home – nursed babies, and gathered chicken eggs while homeschooling. That’s one of the many attributes of home education; you can tailor it to fit your family’s lifestyle. I plan to share more about creative ways to homeschool during diverse situations (because have you noticed that life doesn‘t stop just because you‘ve decided to homeschool), homeschooling on the cheap and homeschooling with babies, toddlers and preschoolers under foot (plus whatever else the Lord puts on my heart.)

God bless you and yours! I leave you with my power verse:
“The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace and remain at rest.” Exodus 14:14
