Christmas Tree Feet

by Kristal on December 17, 2011

Looking for a fun (and maybe messy) Christmas art project?  My girls giggled their way through this one, and we loved the finished project.  You’ll need:

  • green paint
  • red or some other color paint for the toes
  • brown paint
  • yellow paint
  • star stamp (or just hand draw one like we did)
  • paper towels (maybe a throw cloth)
  • white paper
Have child take off socks.  Put a towel down if you don’t want to drip paint on the floor.  Paint the bottom of their feet – green for most of the foot and a different color for their toes.  You could just put some green paint on a paper plate and have your child step in it, but it’s so much fun to paint a foot and have contrasting toes.  Be ready for giggles and wiggles.
Press foot at an angle on a the white paper.  Paint second foot and match up heels when you press it down at the opposite angle.
Finally, add a trunk and star on top!  Wash all feet (and be warned that even washable paint sometimes stains skin for more than one washing) and enjoy your masterpiece!
