Teach Them Diligently 2015 Conventions 728X90

Blog Award Winners, Swap Partners, Carnivals, Memes, Prizes and More

Voting has now ended for the Homeschool Blog Awards. Winners will be announced on November 21st! Be sure to check back in and congratulate some of the finest homeschooling blogs on the net for their outstanding contribution to our community.

If you are a winner, you have until December 2nd to claim your prize and we give your information to our vendors so that they can ship your prizes. Be looking through the prizes to see what you want most and let us know if there is anything you would rather pass on – we take note of your top “wish list” and your children’s ages when doing our prize drawing. Prizes will be shipped by January 13th of 2012.

If you didn’t win, wear your nominee badge proudly and keep shining! All of us are a community and each voice is needed. You never know how many people you encourage and inspire online! Someone thought you were wonderful enough to nominate… over 1,186 of you!

Remember the A B See Photomeme – our alphabetical photo meme?? Well, we skipped it in October because we didn’t have a prize and a lot of us were busy traveling to blog conferences. This month we are planning to bring you two prizes – one for October, and one for November. Two random A B See participants will be randomly chosen for a fun prize (although we aren’t sure what it will be just yet – ha!). You have until this Thursday night to get a post uploaded to Flickr or Pixosphere to be entered in the give-away.

By the way, Lolly Pops and Cupcakes was our last winner and she has not claimed her prize yet. {Ahem!}

We hope you got your packages to your “swap sisters” in the mail. Just in case you needed to be reminded of the dates (we know everyone is busy – especially this time of year):

You were supposed to have mailed your swap package by October 28th, and to have taken a photo of it and posted a ‘thank you’ post on your own blog (if you have one) by the 18th of November. I know I haven’t met my deadline, so don’t worry if you are a bit late. My swap gift went out in the mail last Friday! Just try and get things wrapped up as quickly as you can so that you’ll be ready to LINK UP on our next swap post in January! And try to get your packages in the mail before the holiday rush starts (this week!!)… oh, and let your partner know you are running behind via email out of courtesy, please!

Yep – you heard it right. We’re hosting the carnival again. You can click the buttons on our sidebar for a couple of the previous carnivals that we have hosted to see what a carnival post is about. OR you can click over to Henry’s blog (our gracious organizer) and do anything from 1. find out how to get your blog posts included in the carnival round up, 2. look through hundreds of past carnivals and see what themes people picked to write about, or 3. see who is on the line up to host the next 4 or 5 carnivals that are scheduled. Or you could just stay and read a bit of Henry and his family’s blog – because it is a great homeschool resource.

Our theme for the December 6th carnival will be “Blog Conferences and Homeschooling” – and we’ll be showcasing some of the best pictures from the Relevant Blog Conference that happened a couple of weeks ago – along with others from the past.

If you have a great photo or post about anything homeschooling, you are welcome to enter it. You don’t have to stick to the theme. However, brownie points to anyone who has a homeschool related post or story about your trip to a blogging conference! There were over 70 women at Relevant who were homeschooling, so I’m sure there are bound to be posts out there worth rounding up!

Congratulations to Angelina (#2) for the prize win! Contact us at thehomeschoolpost @ gmail.com (no spaces in the middle) to claim your prize! Thanks to everyone for participating!

Have a great Thanksgiving week and be safe on the roads if you are traveling. Through your readership and participation online, we are a very blessed community indeed. I feel so very thankful to be able to be with my children and to learn beside them. Don’t you?
