A Break in the Action

Beverly & kids at the tree farm.

Hello! Bev here, taking a break from all the festivities to jot a quick note.  I know that all of you readers are as busy as I am, so I will keep it short and sweet.

Are you taking time off from school for Christmas and New Years?  I am so thankful to have a few weeks respite from homeschool at our house.  It is nice to be able to stay up late and sleep in… not that I don’t do those things too often anyways, but when we’re off for the holidays, I don’t feel guilty about doing them!

And, my sweet husband is off of work this week as well, so we are all enjoying having Daddy at home.  His family arrived last night from Ohio (we live in Arkansas) and the cousins have picked right up where they left off last time, laughing, playing, and generally having a wonderful time together.  I am at my mother-in-law and father-in-law’s house as I’m writing this, and I hear them all in the next room playing “Just Dance” on the Wii.  The kids, ages 7, 11, 13, 14, 16, 16, 18, and 18 – all playing together.  Does it get any better than that?

Tonight, we will have dinner together, and then bundle up to go caroling for some dear friends around town.  It is a cherished tradition in our family.  And, to be fair, I posted on my Facebook page earlier today that my family was going caroling tonight, to give everyone advanced warning in case they want to hide and pretend they’re not home.  (Ha!)

So, I apologize for not having prepared a helpful homeschool article, but – as we homeschoolers know all too well – life happens!  And ya just gotta go with it!

To all of our loyal readers – thank you for continuing to click over and visit day after day.  May you have a blessed Christmas and a joyous New Year!

With a joyful heart,

Bev (16 Posts)
