Scrapbooking Club

by Tracy on September 2, 2010

This year I signed my 13 year old up for Scrapbooking Club at our Homeschool Co-op. We aren’t taking classes this semester and we are new to this group, so I thought it would be a fun way for her to get to know people.

At our first meeting. The project was covering a composition book. We were to bring:

1 or 2 composition notebooks.

Your favorite pieces of scrapbook paper.

Glue tape.

A sanding block, scissors and your favorite embellishments!!!

Specific directions are here:

Here is my daughter’s (with my help) finished product. She made 2 in contrasting decor, one for her and one for BFF.

She loved doing it so much she made me one later that week at home!

This would be a great prayer journal.

Projects planned for the next meetings-

Class Projects (these won’t necessarily be scrap pages):
Watercolor (on anything, pages, cards, watercolor paper) using paints or wc pencils/markers/ink.
Chalk art
card making
sticker techniques
photo tips
lettering techniques by hand
gift ideas (fun little boxes or purses)
quilling
stitching or faux stitching on paper
embossing
make a personal journal
punch art
specific page techniques

This a great outlet for tween and teen girls…oh and Moms too!

Fun! We made our own prayer journals, too. I did ours in my Wednesday night Bible Class that I was teaching at church. Mine is already full, so I guess we need to do this project again.

I’m so glad your daughter loved her project – I just had six little girls over for a paper crafting class and it was a hit! And next on the list is sitting down with my two daughters to embellish their homeschool journals…which we’d better hustle on since I plan to crack the books with them starting Tuesday!
