"We're Almost There…"

by Guest Contributor on November 21, 2009

I know a lot of you are going to hear that phrase (“We’re almost there!”) next week on your holiday travels. Maybe some of you will be the ones saying it from the driver’s seat?

We at the Homeschool Post are popping in to let you know that the polls have been closed. We had a bit of a hard time this year getting started and stopping at exactly the right times, but that is the human element with these types of awards, so we hope you’ll forgive us. Each of the authors here have their own blogs and lives to attend to (and when our poll lady has hurting wrists and is in Eastern time, we show her some grace – because we love her).

We hope that all the votes that were submitted are ‘fair and square’ and our team of eyes are planning to review the polls to make sure everyone played by the rules. Each year we have had voting that was ‘overzealous’ and broke voting rules, so the race is not over until the polls are reviewed. We will let you all know who the winners are on Monday (ISH).

I know you’ll be biting your nails until then.

Anyway, THANK YOU SO MUCH for making this a great awards season.

Thank you to:

…the prize awarders (listed in our sidebar – please go visit them and thank them if you will for supporting homeschool bloggers)

…the sponsors (the great people on our sidebar that help keep us operating)

…the GREAT BLOGS nominated (even those that didn’t make the finals – there were just soooo many great blogs)

…the nominators and voters (YOU)

…and to the TEAM here at the Homeschool Post that do all the behind the scenes work and give of their time, talent, and heart all year long.

Just in time for Thanksgiving. We’ve all got a lot to be thankful for… even if we don’t win prizes (and none of us here at the Post win them, so we can sympathize), it is such an honor to know that people are blessed by your blogging presence. You matter. We matter. We’re all here to glean from each other; to share our joy, frustrations, & ideas as we educate our kiddos and share ‘what works for us’.

May your Thanksgiving be memorable (and your family gathering be happy even if it is as disfunctional as everyone-else’s – ha!)…
