I am sure this will seem obvious to 99% of the homeschoolers in the world, but if you are like me and a little slow to catch on to things sometimes hopefully you can use this tip.
When you are working with your child make sure you sit on the opposite side of the hand the child uses to write. When I sit on my right-handed child’s right side his work and the problems are obstructed by his hand while he is working.
When I sit on his left side I am able to see his work and the problems without any obstruction. (unless of course he puts his other hand in the way while you are taking the picture)
This has been an issue for us because we have 2 rightys and 2 leftys. I have to remember to have them sit in the correct seats at our table while they are working with me so I can see their work.

Along with this, I am left handed, my daughter is right handed, so when I am showing her how to do something it is often best if we sit across from each other rather than beside each other.
(this is how my MIL was able to teach me to knit and quilt, and how I was able to teach her to cross stitch!)
I honestly never thought about it before. It makes complete sense. I’ll have to be mindful.

That’s a very interesting tip. You know, when I think about it, I realize that I have been naturally doing this for a few years now. My lefty always sits to my left and my righty always sits to my right. How funny that I’ve been doing this all along without realizing why.
