The Homeschool Post July and August Swap!

by Sprittibee on July 11, 2009

HSBA Post Swap

Oh, boy, did we mess up on the past swap. It was for March and April… and if you remember correctly, Sprittibee had her baby on March 17th. After that, there weren’t enough brain cells left to carry out a swap session. Or much else. Sorry for dropping the ball! Not only did we drop the ball on THAT swap… but the May and June swap never even made it to the light of day. Blame it on the King of Cute. Go ahead. He won’t  mind… as long as you stay away from his milk supply.

So here we are… trying to take another stab at it. And I know you are ready because there have been quite a few questions about when the swap will get back to business. In fact, there have been lots of questions as to when the entire Homeschool Post will get back to business. But now that we have a new author who means to crack a whip at us (you’ll have to wait and see who)… I think everyone will get in to formation!

So if you are interested in getting a groovy care-package in the mail (instead of bills) that looks sorta like the one above (which Lori of All You Have to Give sent to ME)… Please join up! It’s ever so easy. You just comment that you want to join (leaving a valid email address), return your emailed questionnaire form, mail your gift by the date below, take a photo of the present you get, blog about it, thank your swap partner, and enjoy your goodies! “Elementary, my dear Watson!”

Important: Stumble and tweet this post (our twitter account is @hsbapost) to help gather up all the swap-loving homeschoolers you know. Be sure to put the dates below on your calendar and make sure you don’t forget them!

Here’s the schedule:

SIGN UP: By July 18th (Saturday)
PAIRED UP: By July 25th (Saturday)
MAIL SWAP: By  August 15th (Saturday)
POST PHOTOS: By August 29th (Saturday)
EMAIL LINKS TO ME: By September 5th (Saturday)
NEXT SWAP: September 12th (Saturday)

This sign up is for one swap gift and you have two months to get it out, get it posted, and email us the link! Our next swap won’t be until SEPTEMBER 2009.

Sorry… no Highlights from the last Swap! You’ll have to go to previous posts to check those out.

I know you already know what a SWAP is… but in case you need a refresher…

Check out our past SWAP Posts here at HSBA. Chances are they will answer all of your questions and more. Oh, and if you swapped in the past and forgot to send in your link, it isn’t too late! We would love to add your post showcasing your swap gift to our past posts. People still like to click back and see all the gifts, so by all means – share!

Next up… July and August 2009!

We hope you’ll join in the fun! Spread the news and ask your homeschool friends to join. You have until Saturday the 18th to leave a comment here with your email. I’ll contact you and send you a questionnaire!

Here are some basic rules for every swap:

1. Don’t offer to participate and sign up if you can’t get the gift in the mail on time. Now that we are giving you 2 months, this shouldn’t be too hard!
2. Don’t spend more than 5-15$ on your swap gift (not including postage). You will end up making your buddy feel like they didn’t give enough to you.
3. Get to know your swap buddy. Pray for them! Send them a Bible verse! Email them! Etc.!
4. Do NOT share your swap buddies’ personal information (last names or addresses) with anyone else.
5. Make sure you post a photo and ‘Thank You’ for your swap sister – thanking her and linking to her blog.
6. Email me a copy of your swap post link so I can showcase it for the following month!

Suggestion: Please make sure you take extra care when packaging your gifts if they are breakable or fragile. Two or three times now we have had swap gifts damaged by UPS and the Postal Service!

Wow, I’m surprised there were only 12 ladies who wanted to swap! Including me and Lori who I’m forcing to join because we had an uneven number. LOL

You’ll get your questions in the mail tomorrow! ;)
