All the world is a laboratory to the inquiring mind. ~Martin H. Fischer
Summertime is the perfect time for playing and pools, but it’s also a fantastic time to explore those interests of your children that sometimes get moved to the back burner during the school year. Just this year, our 11 year old has taken an interest in cooking and summertime is the perfect time for her to explore those interests. With a bit more freedom, Delaney has been spending more time in the kitchen and catching up on her favorite Food Network Shows and we’re the grateful recipients!

Recently, she decided to treat us to homemade pretzels. She has learned the value of following a recipe, and working on a few math fractions in the process! She also took some great photos of the process to post to her own blog. It seems to me, when you combine all of this together, it adds up to a wonderful hands on lesson!

As homeschoolers, we are always looking for ways to enhance the process, and summertime is the PERFECT time to seize the free time!
