I’ve returned. I found myself sleeping in my bed. It was a pleasurable site, if only it could’ve lasted. Well Happy New Year to everyone! Cannot believe it’s 2009 already! We had a fun New Year’s Eve…. we stayed up ALL night publishing the 12th GGMagazine January 2009 issue! Hard to believe that nearly a year ago we started it!
THEME
For this week, since I’m quite curious, post about what you did for New Year’s and what your traditions are each year. Have fun!
MY THEME:
As I said before Mother Dear, Amanda, and I stayed all night long completely and publishing the January issue. I think I finally went to bed around 10:30am and then got up at 3:30pm. We didn’t plan on staying up all night, but it took longer than we thought.
The Littles stayed up until about 2am. We all watched the Ball drop, yearly tradition, and I thought it was quite a scary thought to know that the Clinton’s were there to push the button and welcome us into the new year! Oh Lord, help us.
We have our yearly photo of Dad sleeping on the couch when the Ball drops but he was going to work early so went to bed before even then! LOL Oh, I wish we had a photo on the computer… we have so many of him sleeping… but he’s a hard worker and a great provider. I can imagine him being tired!
We usually play board games on NY Eve – scrabble, boggle, yahtzee – but we didn’t this year, and I had wanted to play later on that day but just too worn out!
Dad did bring home some hot wings that were a real treat! It was a pleasant New Year’s day and the beginning of another year of which I hope to grow deeper in my walk with the Lord and to witness to others of His wonderful love!
Can It Be So?
by Miss Jocelyn
It hardly seems possible, but can it be so?
Have we really just watched the another year go?
Yes, I’m afraid it is true, but don’t look back.
Keep your eyes on Jesus. Don’t let satan attack. The Lord has something new for you this year
Be sure to be quiet, to listen, to hear.
If you’re not still you might loose sight
Of your goal you press on towards, of fighting the good fight. You don’t know what ways the Lord will use you
Or which paths, which roads, which ways to go,
So, it is very important to study and pray.
To truly seeks His righteous, but narrow, way.Yes, my dear friend, I’m afraid it ’tis so
We have really just watched the another year go.
Don’t worry or fret about that, and certainly don’t look back.
Keep your eyes on Jesus. Don’t let satan attack.
The Lord has something new for you this year
So just be quiet, be ready to listen, be ready to hear.
Blessings!

I went over to my friend’s house and we had fajitas and were planning to play board games in to the wee hours while drinking Italian espresso. However, Kev got sick and had to stay home… and while I was there, I got horrid pregnancy heartburn and needed to come home and stretch out. We all drove home and went to bed before midnight this year. Another year without a new years kiss! Bummer, eh?
Thanks for asking! I hadn’t taken time to reflect about our celebration yet. Great discipline and great joy!
Check it out!
What happened to the header? We usually have a nice header to put on our post but all we got this time is a png link… something fishy is going on here??? LOL
I don’t know what went wrong but I like to have the headers. Is there any way you could try and reload it. I appreciate any effort you make to do so. I will check back later today.
