Funny Friday!: How to Cure Hiccups

by Sheila Wray Gregoire on December 12, 2008

Hello, fellow homeschoolers!

I hope you are having a perfect day in your homeschool. We, of course, are. Because we never, ever goof off. My children are angels who always give 110% throughout the entire day.

We never collapse in a fit of giggles, or eat chocolate at 10:30 in the morning, or give up because Mommy’s getting grumpy.

We would never, for instance, abandon something academic like math and history so that the kids could learn how to make a video and post it onto YouTube for me, because we are ever so high minded.

And so what you are about to see is a mirage, because my family is not this silly.

Recently, though, one of my daughters did have the hiccups. And when we get the hiccups, we get the hiccups. These aren’t nice little innocent hics. These hurt!

When I was pregnant people used to stare at my bulging belly, watching it jerk everytime one of the girls hiccupped. And so, over the years, we have figured out some foolproof methods of eradicating the hiccups.

And I shall share them with you, and show you how my children can make the movie. I, of course, was narrating, but the rest was their baby.

And you never know when this information will come in handy!

Hope you enjoyed that!

That is hilarious. :) HAHAHA I guess there’s nothing else to do up there in the frozen cold but have fun at home making up cures for the hiccups. LOL

Oh my gosh! I never knew anyone else used the drinking upside down thing. Although I don’t do it over a sink, I just tip my head over and drink from the other side. Water is best, btw. Don’t try a different liquid. I don’t necessarily take tiny sips. Just drink as much as I can. Sometimes I hold the counter so I don’t lose my balance and land on my head (with water up my nose). I’ve even done this in restaurants. Table hold in that case. It works. Every time. I love it! :D

A spoonful of peanut butter is easier and it works every time – of course, the videos aren’t as funny. It’s a trade-off, I guess. ;)
