Foto Friday: Decorating for Christmas

by Sprittibee on December 5, 2008

We dusted our apple off and put it away for making apple pie with. Instead, we wanted to get in the holiday mood! If you click on the “SATIN” theme at the top right corner, you’ll see our Christmas wreath! Dawn created a fun holiday header for us at The Homeschool Post, so we hope you’ll click over and leave it up for the whole season. Your screen should return to that color each time when you visit (until you change it to another color). Our template is set up to save your preference for you.

Speaking of decorating, how goes it in your home?

Do you still have a moldy pumpkin on the doorstep?

Leftover stuffing in the fridge?

Leaves and fall colors on the dining table?

Or have you already gotten your stockings and lights put up?

Do you have a live or a fake tree?

We would love to see your ‘decor’ to get the rest of us lazy decorators inspired. You can link your post here and also link it next Thursday again at the Internet Cafe. They are having a bloggy tour of homes for Christmas next week… and YOU will be ahead of the game since we gave you the assignment, too.

Our decoration boxes are strewn out in dusty piles with various items already finding their way around the house (my kids are beside themselves with glee that TONIGHT is ‘decorating night’). I want to vacuum the carpet first and we plan to listen to music while we fluff the tree and make it blink and glitter. There will be much hot chocolate and laughter as we pull out each ornament and savor the memories.

This will be the second Christmas in our current house (and the 4th one since I started blogging!). If you want to see what last year’s decor looked like at the Bee household, hop over to my 2007 holiday post. I included only one picture from it above. My tree looks similar each year. We stick to white lights and mostly red and gold to match our living room furniture.

While you are decking the halls and taking your photos to link them below, I’ll be heading off to untangle my lights and try to prevent the cat from chewing on them. Hopefully we won’t have a crispy cat under the tree (like National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation) this year after we are done putting up the frills. We’ve already caught him thrice crunching on the wires and lights themselves. Sounded like he was crushing gravel. Freaky cat. Oh, well. At least they are under 3 dollars at Wal-Mart. We may have to string them over and over on the bottom of the tree this year!!! I assume once he gets a shock he might learn his lesson!

Hope your decorating stays up once you get it there. And your pets don’t knock the tree over. And you aren’t the only one on the block who doesn’t have lights on the house or in the yard (like us sometimes). And your lights stay lit all through the holidays!

Leave your Christmas inspiration (photos of your decorations or ornaments) here:

Love in Him,

Sprittibee

Q made me drag everything out yesterday. I got a great pic of our dog. It’s in the sidebar of my blog. Check it out. I’m thinking it’s our Christmas card.

Somehow this year we’re ahead of the game. Guess it’s to make up for last year when we had a 2-dimensional paper tree that we put up a few days before Christmas! LOL! :D

Happy decorating!
