In light of the election I have no doubt you’ve all been in a time of your thoughts wondering what direction our nation is headed. What will this new presidency bring to the homeschool community? Will Obama’s one world currency affect families that have their children in private schools? No doubt the economic crisis will bring thousands more families into the homeschool community.
Do you think the nation as a whole is influenced by what the media and celebrities report and say about homeschooling? What about Obama’s involvement in using tax payers dollars to support abortions? Are we headed for a one world government? Is Obama really eligible to be the President of the United States? A Supreme Court will hear this case on December 5th.
With all these events taking place and the buzz around the blogosphere, it’s no wonder it’s quiet around here. Perhaps you’re finding yourself re-evaluating your finances, down sizing on your budget, and praying about your family’s future. Will we ever been coerced into putting our children into the public school? Surely we don’t want to be forced into another government that takes away our freedoms. Our children are facing enough heartache in this nation as it is and a new film will give us a reminder of what such a government is capable of doing.
So with all these thoughts, is this why the blogosphere is so quiet lately? What have you been thinking about? What concerns do you have? Have we forgotten already how faithful the Lord is? Do we remember what happened to the Israelites after God miraculously freed them from the bondage of slavery in Egypt then they lost faith while wandering in the wilderness? Has God not been merciful to us and protected us in the recent support of marriage being between a man and a woman in several states? Are we such a faithless generation as the Israelites were so long ago? God has shown himself real to us time and time again and yet we still become fearful of what is happening in our nation. I know the media seems to consume our thoughts with all these troubles, yet we must make time to spend with the Lord. Our refreshment comes from the Lord and from our family in Christ. Here are some verses to ponder during this thought provoking time.
2 Timothy 1:7, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
Exodus 4:31, “And the people believed: and when they heard that the LORD had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.”
Proverbs 11:21, “Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.”
We certainly have much to be thankful for. Let’s make the time today to praise him, sing to him, and thank Him.
Psalm 100:1-5, “Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
2Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
3Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
5For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.”
