Better Blogging: Inspiration

BloggerA IM’ing: Whatchya doin’ today?
BloggerB IM’ing: Nothin’ what are YOU doing?
BloggerA IM’ing: Nothing! I’m bored and I have NOTHING to blog about!

Sound familiar? How many times have you neglected your blog and left your readers hangin’? Has life become so mundane that you have zilch to report to your readers? We’ve all been there! Here are some quick tips to finding some inspiration for a blog post.

1. Read the newspaper! You’ll find letters to the Editor and other commentaries that might fuel your fire. Most newspapers are now available online and you can link right to the story. Look for stories that are humorous, stories that are sweet, or even the ones that make you downright mad. Now go share about your thoughts to your readers!

2. Read other blogs. When you find an article worth repeating, share your additional thoughts to the article on your own blog and link it to theirs. Your blog friend will appreciate the link and produce more networking.

3. Watch other moms and children at the park. Sometimes you’ll find humorous antics or even parenting techniques that you’d like to comment about. Be sure to keep your location private for safety purposes.

4. Try a new product and share about it. Some readers want to know what new items you have found helpful, tasty, or even unworthy of the dollar you spent. So try buying something new this week!

5. Share the Bible lesson you taught the kiddos this week. Many readers want to know how you parented your children. Each day I have the opportunity to share a Biblical truth with my kids, don’t you? Tell us about it!

Great tips! Simple, but inspiring. Some of these I have thought of, some I use regularly, and some have fanned the flames for more blogging.

Now I just need an extra hour (or two, or three) each day to actually write all the great ideas I come up with . . .

Thanks!
