Here it is Monday again! The start of another week. How is your school year going so far? Can you believe it is September 22nd? Another week, and we will be saying good-bye to September and hello to October. We are a little behind in the planned work, but our learning is continuing as life happens! My middler and younger children will be thrilled to start the Cowboys lapbooks today from In the Hands of A Child!
I know you are busy, so I will keep it short this week and post a few memos for you as you get time to be online.

Going Out Of Business Sale
Hallie, at Blue Thistle Books has made a difficult decision to close her doors and is going out of business. You can read her story HERE.
“I was called by God to homeschool my children, which was not an easy choice because I am a single parent, but I am committed to doing what God has asked and that means they will need all of me, not just bits and pieces.
I cannot tell you exactly when we will close. I hope to have it completed by January, but I cannot say for sure. I will start marking down the inventory we must sell and continue until it is gone. We have literally hundreds of books that have not yet been added to our catalog, so it may take some time to complete the process. Even though we have a couple thousand items, we usually only keep one, maybe two in stock. That means, if you are looking for a good deal, don’t wait too long because things may go quickly as I mark them down. This may also mean it will take a bit longer to ship. Two to three days possibly, but I will do my best to get these items to you quickly.
I would appreciate you passing this on to your friends and fellow homeschoolers. We would really like to sell off the remainder of our stock, which will help me provide for my girls over the next year. This is truly a step of faith, as it is the first time in my life that I have not had a job.”
If you are in need of homeschool books and you can help this single mom out, that would be great!

Be sure to stop by daily to see what neat project they will have for you to do! There will be projects you can use in your home for your sons and daughters.
The first project is learning about The Preamble.
Please Pray
Please remember to pray this week for the babies in China who are sick from drinking tainted baby formula.
BEIJING (AP) — The number of infants Chinese health officials say were sickened by tainted milk powder doubled Monday to more than 1,200 as police announce the first arrests in the spreading scandal. The Health Ministry said a second infant had died of kidney failure after drinking Sanlu brand milk powder spiked with the industrial chemical melamine. The company says suppliers who sold the raw milk apparently added the chemical, normally used in plastics, to make the milk seem higher in protein.
Please also remember to pray for our dear friends who have lost someone dear to them in the past few months:
David and Marsha Drews‘ little Sweetie, Christian, is with Jesus now, and they are awaiting seeing him again one day soon.
Rachael Kligmann also went home to Jesus before her family, and they all miss her tremendously.
Elgin Lirette went home to Jesus, and his dear wife Josephine and his lovely children are missing him, waiting for the day they will see him again.
Each of these families have blogs or journals. Please take time to let them kow you care and are praying for them. The event of losing a child, husband or father may be a one-time event, but the loss is felt each and everyday. May the Lord comfort and bless these dear families.
Have a great week of homeschool this week! Be sure to check out the Carnivals and Contests page. If you click on the name of the carnival, you will get to the BlogCarnival page you need to see where this week’s carnivals will be held!
Blessings,

I’m so excited that today is the first day of fall!!
I did a post about the constitution last week.. I have two books listed that you might want to suggest as well..
Continuing to pray for many.. last month just seemed to be one of those months that were filled with bad news after bad news. I continue to give glory to God for all His mercies and blessings still, though!
God bless,
Sallie
