Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends. We had a quiet, peaceful Thanksgiving, but it wasn’t from everyone eating so much turkey. We actually had Mexican food – Spanish rice, beans, rolled tacos, and cheese dip – which was wonderful. I think we’re all holiday-ed out until Christmas.

After a few days of rest and family-time, it’s time to give all the fans on blog-world an update on how our holidays went. Ah, but don’t worry, I’ll help you around all the leftovers in blog-world.

Homeschool News: Holiday Bundle

I am so excited to announce that I am hosting the 2007 Holiday Bundle. Over the past two months I’ve worked hard on getting prizes and setting this up. The prizes were donated by companies who encourage and give wonderful resources for all homeschoolers.

These are just some of the donators: The Old Schoolhouse Magazine,
Remembrance Press, Homeschool Boutique, and In The Hands Of A

Child

The Bundle is worth almost $300 and there will be 20 winners, and no one will walk away empty-handed. Spread the news!

Homeschool Tip: Unit Studies

“Plan your unit studies to encourage your students to think. For example if you are studying Thanksgiving or the Pilgrims, do not just require your student to write a “book report” about a well-known Pilgrim. Encourage your students to write a story about the First Thanksgiving or their favorite Pilgrim. If you are teaching more than one student, encourage them to act out a scene from the First Thanksgiving. Incorporate hands-on activities and craft projects that relate to that particular unit study or topic. Kids are motivated by hands-on activities and lessons.”

Dear,

I want to be helpful, and due to some discussions on my blog, I wanted to pass on some comments/thoughts to you.

Have you considered that you are running an unregistered contest/raffle in each of the states?

Have you discussed your legal ramifications with a lawyer if you and any of your ‘helpers’ should win? That’s illegal as far as I know, but I’m not a lawyer.

Wow. I was just looking over this website and noticed this “ad” for my afghan business! Thanks!

I love to bless others and still do some free afghans, but by selling afghans I am able to continue to bless friends and family members and bless my family as well.

My sweet husband has always supported my gifting these to others, but has also been the one to encourage me to try to start a small business.

It is important to me that the afghans not be made up in advance, but to be individually custom made so that they will never lose the aspect of the prayer ministry which is the heart of what I am doing!
